The Light consists of the fundemental forces of reality, the things which affect matter in the act of creation. The Gardner is the concept of complexity and diversity, and thus uses the Light to affect matter in acts of creation.
The Darkness (so far) differs from the Light in that its "powers" exist only as interpretations by living beings, it is conected to thoughts/conciousness, with stasis being related to will and strand to memory. Stasis is the embodiment of entropy, which is not a force but the absence of a motive force, of organization. The Winnower is the tester, the concept of adversity, which exists only in the perception of those being tested (the living).

It isn't that bad as far as difficulty goes(most bosses are 1 or 2 phases at this point), but it's a couple hours for 4 drops and you need to turn on a bunch of extra modifiers to reliably get anything above T2, the guns have plenty of dead perks, and it'll all be obsolete in December anyway. Edge of Fate campaign is a pure diarrhea and screams about low effort. Artificially padded out traversal sections that use annoying puzzles, so it feels like locations are bigger/longer, but if these sections instead had a simple Destiny door/corridor/jump puzzles, campaign length would be cut by half.
They also reuse rooms and locations way more often than usual. Barely any vistas as well, most locations feel claustrophobic, likely to spend less time on sky boxes and etc.
Reused music as well, normally I wouldn't mind it, hell, I'll be stocked, D1 tracks are cool, but combined with everything else, it's just another sign of penny-pinching.

I will say at least back then the armor exotics were less complicated so 3 armor every expansion is fine but considering what these EoF exotics do idk... I don't think you had to own HoW either to play trials, did you? So perhaps that shouldnt count although the expansion did bring it just like how EoF will bring ash & iron... anyhow i honestly think EoF should have been $30
