Why are you so hesitant to post a simple picture of your hand and some non-identifiable portion of an ID?
Do you perhaps have something to hide? Here. I'll start.

>We are in an era of complexity.
Needless complexity. CAN Bus is plenty complex, but you can still fix those cars yourself. I hook up my DICE and VIDA VM to my Volvo and all the info I need is there.
The world is not two categories, yes I agree. For sure, not every car from the past was perfect, or would never die. But on average, the quality was higher. You can see this in particular with the Japanese takeover of the US automotive market space in the 80s in response to the oil embargoes making consumers want MPG efficient vehicles.
Those little Jap econo shitboxes, they were well built shitboxes. Why? Keiretsu and Government backed loans, policies set by MITI. These isolated sister companies within Keiretsu's from external market forces like retarded quarterly investors.
The banking arm of Mitsubishi is willing to wait 3 or 4 years instead of one quarter to see a return on their investment, and they provide low interest loans. Both companies then prosper as they have investiture in one another.
Recent examples of engineering that's much harder for the average person to service:
Wet oil belts
Direct injection
Locked ECUs
Cylinder coatings preventing engine rebuilds
Things are getting worse for penny pinching and profit returns.
>COTTON transmission bands
Why are you talking about 1920's model cars in their infancy. That's ridiculous.
