I genuinely don't understand Cameron's fascination with and devotion to this "world" he's created. He's devoted 20 years of his life to this shit and it's the blandest scifi there is. I appreciate the technological advances and all the work that's gone into it, but all this could've been put into the service of great scifi/fantasy literature or original interesting stories. Instead he's blown it all on blue space monkeys. Why?
