If feminism meant truly eradicating all gender roles and TRUE gender equality I'd not only become a male feminist overnight, but a very vocal advocate for it.
Sadly, the reality is that modern feminism is all about women having all the privileges possible and none of the responsibilities of either gender.

You've got it backwards. Men chase status because women care about it and men want access to women. Single men that don't want to date are fine with the absolute minimum, hence all the memes about "men living with nothing" in some 1 bedroom apartment.
Same applies to "toxic masculinity" and men not wanting to show weakness. Men all over the world across time and cultures haven't all agreed on this just because. These behaviors exist because women see displays of weakness as unattractive, so no man wants to appear weak in front of women.
