the problem lies with the fact that, to my understanding, making *actually* realistic TMM involves a lot of steps that mirror painting NMM

I can see that, the mini needs tons more work to not look like bare pewter at best and cheap chinky toy at worst

This discussion just made me realize that it doesn't matter if I pick TMM or NMM, I would still need to level up my *metal* skills a whole bunch to get results I'm satisfied with, since I don't feel like doing the regular bland and mediocre metallics I got accustomed to while painting warhams
