Anon... you're talking about the left, more precisely progressives, more precisely the Californian subtype and fucking Plebbit. When was the last time they let themselves bothered by facts? It's all about virtue signalling and fee-fees. As if they were living in a post-factual world where everything it judged whether supports their agendas or not. If they ever get wind of that maybe (!) you're not down with the business you're stained forever and they won't mingle with you anymore. Even if they're proven wrong beyond any doubt doubling down is the only reaction in their toolbox. What did you expect?

After committing a big mistake at the beginning Avellone got his shit together, got some professional help and handled the rest of the case exemplary. I can only recommend the site he put together where he eviscerates the case bit by bit. Working in the industry again was never really in the cards, but the defamation money should keep the lights on while he finds a second career. And hey, indie projects or the few AA devs who's about game development instead of globalist activism might give him a bone here and there. Owlcat might've been the only studio he worked with who publicly upheld the presume of innocence, the rest buried him the moment the allegations came out.
