I mean, what can they even streamline in a remake at this point? The 3DS version didn't remove any story content. The only real tedium they can realistically cut is having to go to the Abbey to change vocations by making it a menu command. I guess the tablet fragments could just be handed to you unceremoniously instead of having to explore for them, but finding them was always so easy since the game is so linear (any fragments you're missing are almost undoubtedly in the most recent island you cleared). It's as easy as any other DQ entry (just noticeably longer), so I have no idea where this meme of it being impossible to play comes from.
