I remember just some years ago, saying to not be racist was after-school crap that everybody accepted. It was cringe and definitely didn't apply to real life but still nobody questioned it. I accuse the social media. Racists used to seethe in silence but after social media became available, they could express their rage online and found many people shared the same opinions so they didn't feel bad to be openly racist anymore
