>Similar to those talentless writers that tried making that Ren & Stimpy reboot?
You're thinking too modern, Anon. late 90s into 00s is a different time where people weren't trying to "fix" things and John had esteem to his name. People WANTED to work for John and for John to go "who's Kyle" always cracks me up because I bet Kyle tried to impress him and only to be snubbed.

Also, keep in mind that a LOT of people hated working for John because he was hard to please. Lots of retakes and constantly tweeking drawings. There's one dude who has a comic about John having him work on cartoons in an Hotel room in Florida while he yelled at producers over the phone.

Talent doesn't make a good boss. Which is why Kyle was so well liked. He knew how to 'be nice' and keep that shitty behavior in check. Every time he bullied someone, and didn't get reemed for it, all he did was get better at avoiding responsibility.
