My assumption is that it's a relatively believable and easy color scheme that'd be easy to see, as opposed to blue and red which would blend into a lot of scenes. The Empire and by extension Karl Franz was expected to be the most common faction, as they're the most normal human faction. Karl Franz is also fucking handsome like holy shit he always looks great
