I played it via family share because my brother bought it on sale as a big Pillars fan.
It really is not as bad as /v/browns make it and is a pretty serviceable RPG. It's not Starfield bad or anything, and a LOT better than the Outer Worlds. some of the quest lines are neat, and the companions are fine. The magic feels good as fuck to use, maybe one of the better magic systems in an RPG in terms of how you use it in combat.

On to the bad though -
>the game does NOT feel like Pillars whatsoever despite Adra being everywhere. The nugod story is not where I would've thought the story would go
>barely any gear variety and the upgrade system forces you to use 2-3 things all game long (I used my rifle from the second zone to the end of the game)
>the game is not nearly as """"woke""" (hate that term) as the second game, but there's still faggots o'plenty, including the green guy from Guardians of the Galaxy on your team.

The game is in that weird spot where it was pretty good but not good enough that I care to defend it against an army of brown people who haven't played it and never will. This series is cursed and they'll probably never just make the first game but better, which is all anybody wants.
