It's actually an exceptionally cool setting, if you think about it. It's basically some hyper-corporate AnCap sci-fi setting where the major companies are nation-states unto themselves, with what's essentially an indepenent military force ruled by a dictator keeping the peace between them out in space, while Earth has been reduced to a ghetto. And all the individual companies were neat: Jeturk, Grassley, and Peil all had their own unique tech, and all their stuff, including their mobile suits, had a unified design language unique to them.

It was an extremely cool setting and it sucks that the show set in it was so shit. I actually wouldn't mind them taking another crack at the Ad Stella universe, I'd like to see it again with a better show.
