You Will Never Be European
You think that worshipping a rabbi somehow makes you European. You think lighting candles, saying prayers, or wearing a yarmulke will erase centuries of ancestry, geography, and culture. It won’t. You are Mexican. You will always be Mexican.
Every “European” custom you imitate, every accent you try to adopt, every meal you insist tastes like home—it’s all fake. Behind your back, people laugh. Your friends pity you. Your family is confused and embarrassed for you.
Europeans can smell the difference instantly. You can pray to rabbis every day, but that won’t give you blue eyes, centuries-old lineage, or centuries of living on cobblestone streets. You’ll always stick out. You’ll always be foreign. You’ll always be the guy trying to belong in a world that isn’t yours.
You will never be European. You can wear your kippah, chant in Hebrew, bow to rabbis, and hope with all your heart, but the truth is brutal and unchangeable. You are Mexican. You are not European. You will never be. And no ritual, no devotion, no amount of worship will change that.
