It's basically a puddle the size of an ocean.

When I got it I basically justified it by saying people unfairly hated fo4 because I found the gameplay loop of raiding junk and using that material to build settlements really satisfying.

Issue with starfield is the junk is useless. The POIs on planets are the exact same layout and item placements (I thought the world gen would add variety to them but they don't), you find the exact factories and science labs with the glass cubicle sections on many planets. You see the exact same aliens and half the time they don't even recolor them. The actual 'unique' cities you go to have very little side quests and you really can't do what you want in them.

For example you go to Mars and meet a bounty hunter chick- thinking it's going to open up an entire bounty hunter meta but all you do is jetpack up to a tower and put a tracking beacon while you get some flavor text that the actual bounty hunters went to get the bounty-then it just ends.

You do some sidequest on neon to join a gang- you do all the work for them only for them to sell out and become cops and there is zero recourse. You can't even kill them when they make this decision. You run into walls when you actually want to roleplay. The base building is pointless and you can't do what you want. It's just lame.

You can probably get 40 hours of fun before you regret the time you wasted.
