Ever since covid these multiyear gaps have become the norm in the industry and its hurt every single IP they've done it with. You can't expect to hold peoples' interest in a story when you give them nothing in 2+ years. Other things are being released, peoples attention shifts, and the IP loses all of its hype and momentum. Jojo's might be the only IP I can think of that's able to get away with the multiyear gaps between seasons but that's because the way the stories are structured every "season" is a whole new story, so it's not as necessary to hold on to the audience's attention between parts, so long as you actually keep their attention during the duration of the part you're currently airing.
