We don't talk enough about how Kris seems to dislike Tenna and they deal 6x more damage to him if you did the sword route.
For one, the TV World fountain was made by Kris so the whole place carries a lot of their baggage. Tenna is basically a reflection of Kris's memories and family trauma from a really young age and all of this is being blasted in Kris's face in bold bright colors. So Kris exhibits a bit of self loathing and sees too much of themself in Tenna right?
But Kris also sees a bit of themself in Spamton and is way more sympathetic to him. Also Kris gets REALLY angry at Tenna if you do the sword route, possibly having something to do with something the 8-bit Tenna said in the 3rd mantle game.
Tenna is sorta like a peek into Spamton if he was naturally successful and never had to seek out FRIEND's assistance. Tenna views his whole existence as being to serve the Lightners while Spamton has eldritch knowledge of a world beyond the Light World which he wants to reach to truly be free. Tenna wasn't in contact with any meta beings, he ignorantly brought upon his own downfall.
I think Kris(while still absolutely horrified) feels more sympathy for Spamton who lives in the dump due to being manipulated and discarded by an outside force. Kris fears something happening to them akin to what happened to Spamton, but what Kris absolutely loathes is that they could turn out like Tenna of their own volition, hurting people unknowingly and becoming like their parents.
I theorize that the ch3 pipis crying in the Z-rank room most accurately embodies Kris's feelings. They're upset that mom and dad split, they don't want to grow up and inflict the same kind of pain on someone else. The pipis isn't meant to be a literal child, it's a metaphor for a lot of different things.
Also, Tenna trying to save himself and unknowingly sending Spamton to his doom? Dess disappearing and experiencing the horrors because of an incident Kris feels responsible for? The parallels people!
