The early levels are rough, up to 50-60 minimum for most classes, then at that point you start getting the skeleton of a rotation going and it starts getting a little more interesting/involving. But ultimately even later in levels the gameplay still comes down to your boring bog-standard tab targeting shit that if you aren't distracted by the conjunction of job meter management and enemy encounter DDR mechanics enough to realize just how boring the gameplay loop really is, you'll burn out fast.
So if some other element of the game like its story isn't grabbing you (I'd at least give it until Heavensword), coming from a place of genuineness, you should save yourself the time sink and drop it.
