Communism is a transitory ideology, if you maintain communism in a permanent fashion, you run out of bodies to exploit and eliminate and it collapses on its own. What happens in reality, is after the pogroms, gulags and mass-genocides of the best of a nation, the psychopaths who rose to the top, install themselves as oligarchs in a permanent fashion and then transition to capitalism as 'benevolent' dictators.
