Yeah, I thought it'd be an inoffensive reference to Bunnie.
Personally, I'd like to go further in departure to make her Eggman's daughter (so she could have a SAGE-esque role, as I've done in numerous AUs/fan projections of mine), but... I ultimately decided against that for the example to be more 'on brand' and realistic.
I do think the idea of an 'Eggman family' would be incredibly charming for Boom though and I take no shame in my Eggnilla bias.
