Hard to explain why we all know eachother in this situation or why we were all grocery shopping together. But there's this cute quet kind of grunge girl who was having trouble with her heavy bag, lifting it out of the car. I asked if it was heavy and if she needed help. She paused and said um like she wanted to say yes but an annoying gay man interrupted with 'Noo, you got this (name), c'mon'. Then an older man who I don't think even heard him or me but just noticed the bag was big and grabbed it for her.
I've just been thinking about that recently. Thinking back on it I just find the attitude of the gay man so repulsive. For one I found her cute of course and wanted to help. But also just in general it's stupid.
I was raised on lotr, Narnia and similar noble in spirit books. What warped that man to interrupt something so small because it has the smallest hint of chivalry.
All well. On a very related note, I've been thinking about idolizing women, platonic ideas about idealiziations in general, and the Virgin Mary. I was getting back to my Catholic roots and it's nice to have Our Lady back. A real embodiment of feminine perfection. A woman you can actually put on a pedestal and deserves to be there. They say 'dont idealize women' but I think you should, like all things. And realize how big the gulf is between what could be and what is, that's the fallen world. Don't confuse real women with their ideal, but love the ideal, and insofar as real people embody the ideal (feminine or masculine or beyond that) then look to that as what's good about them. I'm probably going through some 'Jungian' stage in developing my anima, don't like Jung though, I've recently just been happy thinking about ideal femininity without attaching it to any actual woman Ive known or expect to ever know in this world. It feels like being free.
