The trouble is that Adam in the first season is portrayed as very secretive about himself, even to Lute, and he feels a bigger emotional attachment to them (Sinners and Eve) than say Eve. Heaven doesn’t really care about how evil the Sinners are or about their sufferings at all, unless they die.

That I wonder if he didn’t actually like killing them as much as he said, and he’s somewhat manipulating the Exorcists to perform their natural function.

Remember how in Season 1 that Adam (not Lute) is implied to be one of the only heaven dwellers to see what goes on in Hell, and secretly is in despair watching how miserable and evil they are?

Maybe season 2 is going to make heaven crazier than Adam by the time they actually deal with them and watch what occurs there.
