What's most questionable is why we don't have access to our computers and never had.

When the computer starts up, the first thing it asks for is input. This means it shouldn't do anything other than display a blinking cursor.

This is the actual root, and only then is something either loaded automatically or the user can enter input thru operation codes and variables.
