They've been on budget crunches since 2008 with a slight resurgence in production when the major streaming players were willing to hemorrhage money to grow their market share, but now they're in the "shit, we need to actually be profitable" phase and nothing could ever possibly replace the gold mine that was network TV ad bidding.
