If you're on discord, there's a how-to for debulbing the head by using advanced bonemod window. Def. check it out.
In my case, I use a head alpha mask to cut off the top part, and then use pic related + normal sliders.

Don't know what you mean by leggy, but judging by the pic she's seems to be shorter - under body/general tab, lower the body height slider to 0.

As for the hair color, there's a "material editor" button, click on that and scroll down to 'shadow color'. Then just set the values I wrote, there and in the box you'd normally change the color in.
