Satisfactory is my favorite by far. Setting up something you can walk through is the kind of feeling that made Minecraft an overwhelming market, so I know I'm not alone in appreciating that. Figuring out the logistics and testing new designs to help improve production and management were a lot of fun, something I spent as much time out of the game for as in the game.

Most of all I enjoy it being 3D 1st person. That does bring it's own share of challenges, which were repeated ad nauseum in the thread already, but it lends other advantages to gaming such as movement, perspective, and the rest of the game, such as FPS combat and exploring. I also really enjoy that the grind isn't a race against time or enemies. You build at your own pace, and your time is divided between building the factory and exploring, rather than just factory grind. Infinite resources are a similar plus for that reason. You take things at your own pace and don't feel like you're screwing up because you're not managing every ore out of a limited node. Having a huge assortment of progression paths (phase, milestone, MAM, alt recipe, AWESOME, exploration), is a plus for replayablility and picking out your favorite tools, but admittedly I'd prefer many options to be more readily available by default (AWESOME stuff in particular), and that all of them can dry up and leave you finished, nothing left to do, is one of my cons for the game.

For cons, there is the definitive lack of end game, which is true for all in this genre. Launching rockets faster or raising sink score for an empty shop are both make-work goals with no motivation. Second, there's no option for an RNG map or randomized nodes (there's a mod for that), so while each of the 4 starts will be different, it's still ultimately the same. Customization takes too much AWESOME work. I wish alt recipes included alternate sized/shaped machines.

Still, Satisfactory is my 2024 GOTY. I highly advise ignoring salt posters and trying it.
