I honestly think what adds to the yaoi being bad is the relationships being underdeveloped. Amphoreus is the first planet where I was interested in the cast as a whole rather than as individuals, and with the rumored characters appearing in Edo Star, I don't expect it to give us a well-connected cast either. At least, that's how I see it.
