As someone who genuinely cares for Asa and the story, I can tell you that her getting hit in the brain with a sword was the best thing that ever happened to her. I fully expect Yoru to try and absorb Asa to save herself, and Denji choosing Yoru over Asa. All of this is a good thing as it finally separates the wheat from the chaff.
