I think a good portion of the criticism against Umineko is people taking the whole thing too seriously. You simply need to accept that the whole scenario is suspect from the start and just enjoy it for the entertainment value. It's not like that cunt Agatha Christie's Orient Express where she pretends it's an actual mystery but then just spits on the reader, on Knox's decalogue and on Van Dine's 20 rules with the gay "everyone was in on it and then they just worked together to mess with you some more, lole!!" crap.
