I used 2x framegen on a couple games(Space Marine, Alan Wake 2) and I had no problem with it. I beat them both on the hardest difficulty and couldn't perceive any latency whatsoever. Then again the animation for a player action in those games can be near a second long, so you wouldn't notice a few extra frames of delay. I think the framegen latency would only really be perceptible in games that require player reactions faster than 200ms, stuff like fighting games and twitchy shooters, but those kinds of games are almost always very lightweight by design.
