i was worried about whether the gaussian blur proportions i was using (3 pixel normal "stroke" [outline] layer + 7.5 gaussian blur value [i presume pixels?] stroke layer [duplicated twice, for three [3] gaussian blur layers in total]) would scale for any size, so i used an uber huge font size to compare
left is 50 font size, 3 pixel "normal" stroke layer, 7.5 value gaussian blur "stroke" layer (x3, for 3 gaussian blur layers total)
right is 250 font size, 15 pixel "normal" stroke layer, 37.5 value gaussian blur "stroke" layer (x3, for 3 gaussian blur layers total)
i think they're literally the same, so it scales proportionally. i get this probably would be a stupid test if i knew what gaussian blur was, but still. i was worried i might find one day that because i haven't been doing some calculation to determine how offset the opacity of the blue becomes at different scales that this wouldn't be standardized by just scaling everything up proportionally
also, i thought about saying the following so many times, but i bit my tongue on it every time. but the gaussian blur popup window is the first time i encountered a menu in gimp (this is all in gimp btw) where when selecting a preset, it defaults to expecting you to hold click, hover over the preset you want in the dropdown, then release click to select what you wanted. i thought i was going schizo for a while seeing the dropdown flicker, but i eventually figured it out, but i thought i'd sound stupid if i said this out loud. but i've come to prefer holding click to select my gaussian blur preset, rather than making it flicker, then it probably switching to normal click-to-select-without-holding-click behavior. so i figured saying this is better than not
