>I may be old, but I'm apparently never done doin' your job
That's actually a pretty decent approach to the pseudo-English pidgin anime sub/scanlation version of xに負けない which sidesteps the "won't/can't lose to x" problem. The execution isn't there but the thought process put forth is solid. Something like
>I may be old, but I'll show you how it's really done
Might be an even better framing that sounds like actual thoughtful English instead of the garbage you think of as a "literal" translation. Stuff like this is exactly what translators/localizers should be looking at to try and advance the craft.

There are some other problems with the "literal" rendering on the right and it's clear that whoever did it is still in the N4 salt mines.

Don't learn Japanese. You think "huh" - answer is bad, you've seen nothing.
