He had no room in his lexicon for whimsical or silly. he was the type that Corinthians 13:11 applied in a cynical sense.

We consumed similar media at the time, and the MK movie had just came out. It was the first non-crap movie about a video game that didn't basically change everything stupidly, a solid B- flick that was as close to perfect as you could get for its intended age group.

His first complaint about it was "Well, there wasn't enough fatalities."
