This is just my subjective take, but I really hope they don't do something like that but Lucifer's arc was honestly a really accurate take on Christian predestination

God's not making him rebel. Lucifer is choosing to do this entirely of his own free will. It's even implied by the dialogue in pic related that God would take him back if he just repented but, again, that's just not in Lucifer's nature.
It's less that people don't have free will, and more that God simply knows what they're going to do ahead of time.
