Hell, it's implied that the reason why part of Asmodeus turned back into an angel after her first fight with Priest is that she understood on some level that what he said about "only rapists enjoy rape" was true and felt a tiny bit remorseful, even if she immediately doubled down on it after the fact.

Taking a break from his duties to actually experience the world so he can love it on his own terms is a perfectly reasonable course of action to take, especially since he knows that the Church doesn't need his aid as of now.

The author has put the utmost care into showing how traumatic sex and sexuality has been to the Priest over his whole life. But throughout the Asmodeus arc we are given a direct change in how the Priest views those around him. I liked that the artist doesn't really need to make Imuri sexy but when the Priest really thinks about it, suddenly he's seeing her in 4K for the beauty she is still a whore though. I particularly like the moment it clicks for him in his talk with Asmodeus. Both for the demon lord and for Imuri.

Chapter 55 is a masterclass to art and composition telling a story. No words are needed for most of it, we see how normal everyday sights for the Priest are no longer the same. He's been doing Imuri's laundry with no real concern but now that huge bra is in his mind. The cup of glass she drank just before bed gave him a great view of the nape of her neck. Her skirt is just a little too short showing off her thighs. And the flash back to Dante's advice on how it's OK to have sex if both parties consent, which also happened during his talks with Asmodeus who equally expressed that people should be comfortable with sexual things even if there are drawbacks as well. Her tits when she's fresh out the shower, or wearing a particularly revealing swimsuit. It's amazing he took this long to realize who he's been living with but that just speaks to how dogmatic he was brought up to be.

And it's still something shameful to him. He tries to pray it away, there's a quiet for just a fraction of a page. She was found out to be a demon when her true mission and betrayal of trust came to light. The betrayal was what turned them against her, the fact she was a demon just escalated things.

Also Asmodeus forced the succubus to literally birth her true form, leading the impression that the Demon Lords were generally quite abusive to their subordinates. Yeah, there's some early installment weirdness there - people don't generally reference bible verses anymore to use their powers, for example - but the starter succubus was an interesting case, because she's apparently going around killing people with sex without any complaints and is clearly a menace that needs to be banished ASAP, but she's also angry/ashamed at being called out for having a high libido, so she's not completely devoid of human conventions and mores about behavior.
Asmodeus's behavior was more casually cruel and evil than any demon since has been, aside from Beelzebub, who seems to be the worst one. But also, the brothel succubi seemed like they were intending to rape the priest to death (or whatever happens to lost souls when they're abused to the limit) until they learned to be scared of them.
Overall, I think I'd put demons down as about as evil and dangerous as career criminals like cartel members. The main thrust of their work is evil. They're extremely dangerous to deal with and civilians should probably report them to the authorities as soon as possible. But they're not completely unrepentantly evil, they have sympathetic sides and a sense of right and wrong and virtues, just don't expect any of that to save you from them if your ruin becomes convenient to their agenda.

I barely know the context here. I just learned about this manga, was intrigued by the title, checked out the first two chapters and then read the one dumped in this thread.
From context cues I can tell their relationship has been going on for a while and that the two have shown to have feelings for each other to an extent but never voiced them out, and that the the girl was actually betraying the MC this whole time but turned around at some point in dramatic fashion.
If that's the context, I can't see in any way why this mysterious "western audience" that doesn't understand Japanese culture yet reads minor Japanese works would, if it exists, find it weird that MC would tell the girl that he did everything he did "because he loves her".

Getting physically BTFO means nothing to a demon lord when they can just reform back in hell and get propped up to their full strength in a matter of years.
That's the most depressing thing about the fight with Asmodeus, and the battles against the demon lords in general. They aren't killed or forever sealed in hell, they're just forced to recover for a time before they get the strength to wreak havoc on Earth.
For all his brutality, Priest couldn't do anything to permanently affect Asmodeus, save for making her realize she couldn't have forced herself onto Sarah to keep her.
Leah's whole quest for vengeance is even sadder because her victory ultimately changes nothing. Beelzebub can just come back in a few years, as if nothing ever happened.
There has to be a way to permanently kill off the demon lords, or at least keep them trapped in Hell forever.
