Jenn Wasner is such a great musician. I can't say I like Wye Oak's newest stuff, but their older stuff is incredible. The album The Knot is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Real crunchy guitars, depressed vocals, introspective lyrics, the quiet moments interrupted by the loud cacophony, the slow trudging drums, absolutely brilliant. Their new stuff and the stuff Jenn Wasner outs out under the Flock of Dimes monicker is a little too glitzy synthpop for my tastes, but what can you do?
