Derek Drymon of Spongebob fame took over as director, with Genndy still writing the story. I didn't think it was a bad movie. It was clear from the middle two films that they wanted to repair up Drac and Johnny since they have the best chemistry out of the entire cast, and would always have one scene where they have to execute a plan together. Another movie exploring their relationship makes sense.
