>willing to do a pact that revives a ancient entity that can destroy and kill everything

??? Dormin doesn't want to destroy or kill anything. He was fighting with Emon's people at the end of the game purely in self-defense, but besides that, there's no definitive proof of him being evil or wanting to destroy the world. His nature (just like a lot of other things in the game) is left pretty ambiguous, but more things point to him being good than evil. He appears as this huge creature of darkness that humans fear yet his voice generates light, and the last scene in the game with Mono shows that the place he was speaking from is a beautiful garden overflowing with life, unlike everything else in the forbidden land. Not to mention, he kept his part of the deal with Wonder and revived Mono back to life.

I think Dormin was simply a misunderstood God of life. The one who had good intentions but was feared by people from the outside world due to his dark appearance. That's why he was sealed off, and why life in the forbidden land was drained out in the first place
