majority of it was because VISA allegedly processed ad pennies off of some illegal 3DPD video, and a retarded judge deemed them non-dismissible and then liable
the case is still ongoing, but now recently with a "whistleblower" allegedly accusing VISA & MC of directly processing illegal 3DPD recordings on top of inaction, it's plausible that they're now building up a paper trail of pure 2D to attempt to pass it off as evidence of cracking down on "illegal" content

but it's still plausible that VISA and maybe MC were intentionally policing fictional content from powers granted by either-or Operation Choke Point and FOSTA-SESTA

or either of the Euro processors allow fictional content (which could be difficult because of their balkanized laws)
or Fair Access gets un-paused so VISA/MC are pushed to revise their shit, even to waive liability
