there's a tendency in the hs fandom to want to make powerful female characters like vriska and meenah seem like "victims of doc scratch/lord english" even though they are the spiritual twins or maybe even mouthpieces of the male characters they're supposedly being "manipulated" by. what exactly is the difference between vriska bullying tavros and caliborn bullying calliope? what's the difference between vriska committing suicide to fulfill her definition of a hero at the end and caliborn committing suicide to fulfill his definition of an author at the end? maybe it's because i haven't picked the story apart like everyone else but i think overanalysis can miss the forest for the trees. there are no villains in homestuck (the story), just characters who got what they wanted and characters who didn't. there is no big message besides either escaping the narrative the author imposes or becoming the center of it
