It's about respect (or rather, it was). Lilith owns Rinko, but Aoi's her artist, so she's his too, in a sense. It's why people are getting so worried and upset over this whole third-party artist/AI thing. Barring an unforeseen inconvenience, or a fun, once a blue moon gimmick, like >>8626536 mentioned, the character "belongs" to the artist and people expect to see art of Rinko or anyone else from their respective artist.

No one has any expectations for AT's art, good or bad, because the game isn't handled by Lilith's internal art staff. Folks just kinda write it off, especially since AT's been doing its own thing for so long. Honestly, the art being AI isn't even the main issue people have with RPGX's latest units. It's about respect and "ownership". Lilith doesn't respect the artists that brought these girls to life and that's pissing fans off. They also don't respect that the girls, in a way, "belong" to their original artist. When people see art of Asagi, for example, they want it to be from Kagami, because she's his. Even if they weren't using AI, if they just got some rando to start pumping out art, they would still be mad. It's like bringing in other artists to work on a mangaka's manga. It's supposed to be their thing.
