Not really, Maelle ending is the tantrum of a 15 year old that fucked up, made her brother sacrifice for her and can't accept her new grim reality so uses the cool canvas where she is super powerful and loved as a form of escapism.
She is the most egoistic in the painter family, as others are grieving for Verso, she is just mad that she is crippled in the real world and can't deal with it.
If Maelle really cared for Verso's canvas and the people in there, she would have left willingly. Not even Renoir wanted to destroy the canvas, but he knows his wife and daughter are way too retarded and will end up killing themselves in it.
