I genuinely care more about the relationship dynamics of a Gammoth seeking vengeance against a Tigrex that killed it's Popo herd decades prior in an ecology cutscene, than I do if all of Kunafa were wiped off the face of the map by an unfortunately timed Rey Dau fart. The feeding dynamics of how Uth Duna feeds primarily on large predatory fish, leaving smaller, more nutritious Sushifish for the rest of the locale (which is now being seized upon by invasive Male Mizutsune and juvenile Lagiacrus populations) is more interesting to me, than knowing that hair-obsessed furgoblins are squatting in the remains of a dam facility and have a grillup on Fridays. I barely cared that the Meowscular Chef used to be the Admiral's palico, whereas I actively tried to follow the skeleton of the dead Dalamadur that makes up the entire upper-map portion of the Rotten Vale and investigated it by myself, to see where the monsters were nesting within it's corpse.
