So the gloves have been ON this whole time? Shit, I thought the show lacked comedy before.... This is gonna be grueling for people who watch the show for laughs. It probably just feels like doing their duty for lefty values now for the people who tune in. I'm a big lefty and I've always voted blue, but I only watched Colbert for a few weeks after years of being a Letterman fan. And every couple years I'll watch part of a show and see it get worse. They edit the interviews, which I'd never seen done in late night by anyone; the shows more or less were recorded live with commercial break hiatuses in real time, and I guess they changed that to longer interviews and trimming for the best results.
It became more and more political to the point that for the last few years it's seemed like both he and Kimmel just do nonstop Trump shit. We KNOW Trump's a fucking idiot. We KNOW what he's doing to the nation and the world.
We get our news elsewhere; we don't want it in our comedy variety shows. Yeah, we need to be able to laugh about that shit, but leave it to the Daily Show; you don't work over there anymore. And now you don't work for CBS anymore.
Do fucking COMEDY for your last ten months!!
This martyrdom shit is the worst possible move.
