IMO $3-6K
after that it's drastically diminishing returns in terms of aesthetics, quality, & design. I definitely see, feel and appreciate the difference between my $100 Tandorio, $500 Seikos, and my Tudor or IWCs. i keep day dreaming about getting a vacheron constantin eventually, but that truly feels like wasting money at that point. even if i felt like burning up that kinda cash, there's better ways.
if you're one of those people that sees no difference between a Kia or a Porsche, then stick to the $100-250 watches.
