One of the closest members (Cartel of Medellin) of Pablo Escobar's Cartel (who gave plane permits and licenses to ship tons of drugs into USA). When Uribe snitched Escobar for total pardon (which they did)... Alvaro became president of Colombia decades later and every surviving member of Medellin Cartel outright exposed everything he did (he constantly lied about it, bribed and people suddenly "missed their court dates or outright dissapeared" when related to it.
Drug business boomed during Alvaro Uribe Goverment which was during the whole 2000's
