I don't know if this is worth playing. I never played the first one, but I played Fantasy Life i recently and liked that. I hate the go-to-sleep and romance systems these types of games always tend to have.
Didn't get a (You) last thread, trying again.
>His cart has more than one RPG
>>714549893fuckin hate the way the main character feels in judgement. Feels like people are smoking crack when they glaze the combat in that game.
It's fine but Kiryu feels 1000% cooler to control. He's more fluid feeling, more intuitive strikes, and they just look more brutal. I do need to play the 2nd game though.
>>714550126Already finished it. Don't feel like NG+ will have enough content to redo it. To be honest I didn't really like 100%ing the exploration and have no desire to do it again.
>>714550209I have it for ps4 and enjoy it but sounds like it's not for you
I'm tired
To all the indie devs here, shill me your games.
Also, pro tip - put your games at $3.99 or equivalent price points (8.99, 18.99) if you want to undercut the competition.
What do you guys think about this, trying to expand my horizons as wide as my third eye..

Is the season pass a must here? Because it costs almost double what the main game does, and at that point I'd probably rather grab something different off my wishlist.
>>714551275Rabi Ribi and Cross Code are some of my favs. I personally didn't like the clunky movement of Blasphemous.
>>714551275>Jupiter HellIt feels kinda... monotonous. Very slowburn. Not a whole lot of sudden chaos going on but you can still die to something dumb like a level filled to the brim with security bots or to your own BFG splash, and it doesn't feel like "HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT HAHAHAHAHAHAHA", more like "Right. I guess I'll be more careful nex- *uninstalls the game*". Though I'm also the kind of person who doesn't really like slow roguelikes, so maybe it's not for me.
My personal favorite roguelike is called Rogue's Tale. It's much faster and the deaths in it are far more absurd and rapid. Losing in it leaves me shellshocked more often than annoyed, which is the case for JH and some other community darlings like Tales of Maj'Eyal.
>BlasphemousStylish but not fun. I'd recommend Nine Sols if you're looking for stylish, but then again it's 20 bucks and this is just 2.5.
>Death StrandingUgh...
>CrosscodeNever played it, but it apparently served as one of the 6 gorillion inspirations for one of my favorite games ever - Secrets of Grindea. Maybe try Secrets of Grindea. They're very jewish with their discounts but on the other hand they have a demo.
>ValhallaHeard an unbacked rumor that the devs backed the insane twitter roastie who tried to ruin the Fight Knight dev's life. Maybe fact check that if you have the time. Not because of some stupid morals or principles, but because a developer who would do that does not have the IQ necessary to make a good game. All I ever hear about it from other anons is it's "that games with lesbo shit and a whore".

>>714552073The real red flag was one of the Va-11 Hall-A people going bonkers and making them waste years remaking the next one from scratch over and over.
In retrospect, maybe them having cameos from that preachy SJW robot game in their own title was fitting.
>>714553187t. https://files.catbox.moe/ad2lsm.webm
>>714552992It's just a good adventure to go on and have fun with.
>StorySilly "parody" setting where everything revolves around murderhobos and grinding for loot, silly one-dimensional characters, "Can't be helped" said several times throughout the game, but it's not the "Well THAT just happened" kind, it's earnest enough to make you play along and feel invested. It takes itself seriously enough to not ruin immersion.
>GameplayThe quest design and puzzles are fairly normal. They don't feel too obscure or convoluted, you don't have to look up any solutions. Combat isn't anything super special, but it's nice. It's overall very well paced in my opinion, nothing drags on for too long, nothing overstays its welcome. Even the grind is pretty lax because the more you kill - the more enemies spawn, so you never really just "go through the motions", you're constantly in the heat of the fight. And the grinding process isn't long either. Game did itself a disservice calling itself Grindea.
>VisualsIt looks cute and high effort. Someone clearly put his soul into those bouncy animations.
>>714553579>In retrospect, maybe them having cameos from that preachy SJW robot game in their own title was fitting.Which one was that?
>>714552978I watched the anime of RoLW because of Freiren and wasn't a fan desu.
Ys to me always felt like a "B-team" JRPG. Like one of those games you play if you've caught up with your backlog and want something to play but not something you'd go out of your way to play if that makes sense.
Don't know enough about the third game but the Steam page says only 2 hours. At that point you may as well watch a Youtube playthrough.
>>7145536782064: Read Only Memories
>>714553578Why not? Too boring? Not fun? What would you recommend instead?
I kind of want to play DS just to see for myself. It always seemed like a weird game but I figured now that it's cheap it's worth trying and if I don't like it I wont feel cheated.
>>714553751That looks beyond awful. My hunch about yuri devs keeps paying off.

>>714553998If big titties and sexy outfits count as sexual content: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2768430/ATLYSS/
If you mean outright porn, I can't FULLY vouch for it, but give Ravager's demo a try if you're fine with v*sual n*vels. It seems to make an earnest attempt at having an world instead of just bimboland smut. Jewish discount of only 25% off, but on the other hand - demo. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1683560/Ravager/
Been thinking about these games, but I'm not really sold on Mafia. Anyone here played one (or more) of the ones on the right? Selaco is cool but the Early Access tag has me doubting if I should buy it now.
>buy Doom 2016 for 4$
>its actually pretty good
>>714554174Trepang is fine, but 15 bucks for it doesn't seem worth it unless you played the FEAR series to death and NEED your fix.
Did you play Blasphemous 1?
Nothing to say on Selaco other than that the artwork is ugleh.
>>714552978Ys IX has a lot of QoL improvements over VIII if you're someone that goes straight to inferno difficulty blind on first playthrough. Otherwise VIII is a safer bet to play if you haven't already. It's a solid action rpg and anyone familiar with party based Ys knows exactly what they're getting into.
Deedlit in Wonderland is a Team Ladybug joint, another game where if you played anything else they made, you know what you're getting into - a game with solid mechanics with the major fault being how short and easy it is. Again, worth it if you liked anything else they made.
>>714551275Bayonetta, Blasphemous and Severed Steel are pretty good
>>714554150Big titties and sexy outfits are just fine. Will check out.
>>714552687Rollercoaster Tycoon is still good, the rest, i have no idea
>>714554174nine sols is bussin, may be a little hard if you are new to the genre
>>714554496Dorm Room Manager is good. You're a dorm room manager at a college dorm and your job is to seduce multiple women that live there. Lots of minigames and it has an adventure component to it as well.
>>714554496Atlyss is great, then. Surprised you haven't already tried it. Hope you like it.
Stopping by to shill no straight roads while it's cheap. It's a worse game than hifi rush but it's still fun and filled with soul.

Judgment is good. (Lost Judgment is better.)
Gaiden is great. Don't be fooled into thinking it's a "side story game" or something. Play Like a Dragon first.
>>714554174I'd swap any of those REs for Selaco or Blasphemous.
I've only played the first Mafia back in the day, it was a good linear TPS with open world as a background, there was precisely fuck all side activities. That's not condemnation, just a clarification.
Selaco has a chunky packed campaign, 12-14 hours on the first go. There is basically no plot at this point, so you aren't getting any cliffhangers, except that they blueball you with a mech boss fight at the end. The gameplay is exceptional, although some get frustrated at having to play around obfuscation like dust and smokes.
>>714552978IX is the weakest of the modern Ys games but it's still alright.
>>714551275VA-11 HALL-A is a tough one to recommend at anything other than a steep discount. It's a slice-of-life VN in a cyberpunk setting, but it's focused on the mundane side of things. The "gameplay" loop is standing in a bar listening to people yap about whatever, very infrequently actually making drinks, and then between work shifts you sit around your dumpy apartment scrolling the internet. There's some charm and a kind of through-line to the story and its characters, but it doesn't really go anywhere by the time it ends.
Riviera + Yggdra Union, are the steam versions worth getting instead of just emulating?
One of these days I'm going to get around to playing Knights in the Knightmare on a ds like it's meant to be.
>>714552978Deedlit is a short, decent combat platformer, terrible as metroidvania. The story is aimed at players who already care about the characters, if you don't, it's a flatline

Senran Kagura Estival Versus, Shinovi Versus and Burst are good for fan service while also still being fun action games. I can't speak for the quality of their pc ports though.
Bloody Spell is a surprisingly fun game with a decent amount of lewd unlocks and workshop mods.
She Will Punish Them is further away gameplay wise than all of these, but it's a pin up styled action game with engaging enough progression and plenty of mods.
Off the top of my head for action games anyway.
>>714553998>>714564403I'll echo the Huniepop games. The first one has the best girls and sexual content IMO; just make sure you download the patch and aren't expecting much more than a few CGs of each girl. Huniepop 2 is the better GAME, but it's a significant downgrade in terms of girls. Huniecam Studio is the odd one out with no nudity and a completely different gameplay genre, but it's still fun for a few rounds working out the best strategy. (Also, Kyu is hands down the best character in any porn game I've ever played.)
Please recommend me some cozy games or arcady score attack games for Steam Deck. Indie or otherwise

>>714551275Bayonetta drives me up the wall with its fugly filters and horrid minigames. The core gameplay is great, but the combo offset mechanic is kinda arcane, and meant to excite action game veterans.
If you want an approachable action game, Metal Gear Rising is the thing, just make sure to learn the parry input at the start of the second mission, it's flick direction + attack. DMC1 and 3 are fine starting points too.
Blasphemous is an alright metroidvania. All of them come with caveats, and this one plays a bit stiffly. If you really like the setting, go for it. Otherwise try Castlevania Advance collection for the classics, or for something modern and smooth, Ori (focus on platforming) or Guacamelee (focus on combat). Hollow Knight is excellent, but also gargantuan in scope. Not in the sense of complexity, but length. May be a phenomenal adventure to have as your first metroidvania, I dunno.
Jupiter Hell is really approachable as far roguelikes go, and the combat has a surprising sense of impact. You can also try DoomRL for free, the predecessor to it. A bit more complex, but still welcoming for the genre. I've had over 100 hours poured in each one, the way they mark your achievements with medals and ranks is a great motivator.

Are there any more arcadey racing games that go good wit ha wheel? all coverage is pretty much for sims.
Already purchased horizons 5

When they say "you should punch nazis" and then call everyone under the sun that disagrees with them a nazi without any adherence to the actual definition of the word, it quickly just becomes nothing more than advocacy for political violence and in turn weaponizing fear to keep people in line.

>>714573197X is one of my favourite games, but it's criticised for being very linear. Some people also find Tidus annoying but those people haven't actually played the game. Apart from that, getting all the ultimate weapons is a massive chore.
X-2 is a giant tonal shift from semi-classic high fantasy to magical girl/fanservice slop full of Japanese "humour", but it has a great combat system and absolutely tons of content. It's also almost impossible to 100% without a guide.

>>714573604Linearity isn't bad if it's used to tell a good story. Also, with Tidus being annoying, I'm sure that was done intentionally to allow for more mature character growth later on. Much like Asta from Black Clover (anime). The second half having a tonal-shift I see as a product of its time when stuff like that was gaining popularity.
>>714573518People parroting what everyone else says without playing it.

I play it long ago but what mostly people get to call the game communist is the main character having a random thought (also happens with other ideologies) about the rise of the lower class and become a communist

>>714578551I haven't finished it, but so far it seems to be a bit better at every con I listed. I am not a huge fan of the girls only boarding school setting + occult aesthetic over the glitchy bugged computer style of the original personally, but it's definitely still unique enough to be eye catching. I also appreciate that it is taking steps to get you to like all the characters in the school and has enough self respect to treat the mystery aspect as an actual mystery with a lot of red herrings or potential answers floating around, most games don't really do even that bare minimum. The girls themselves while still anime stylised tropes surprisingly react and behave realistically as well, so far the story seems to have as great a start as the first game.
Honestly I'm more interested in the next game that's turning the series into a mystery dungeon game since I don't actually like the Neptunia style combat system at all. I am not joking or being hyperbolic when I say that the only thing about the combat in the first game that I enjoyed was playing pinball with the enemies.

>>714597671I have over 150 hours in it and i just did story and some of the abilities. The game is huge, brings new things to the table throughout the game like drone building and taming creatures. The community for the game on /vst/ is super helpful. And if you want to know the scale of what you can do imagine this. There is this character that has a class called berserker. The idea of it is that the moment she is attacked she goes closer to the enemy that attacked her, if its close enough she attacks, if she kills she goes again searching for the next target, if she has berserker stacks she can't go below 1 hp. Basically she is a one man army on the enemy turn. Huge investment but really fun.

>>714599057I'll be honest I played past the intro and and first mission realised this is more like a rpg than xcom then I dropped it.
>>714598557It's not perfect, but it's pretty fun if you like that type of over the top anime story. I liked Kasane's route quite a bit, she's really not your usual JRPG protagonist. Yuito is a lot more generic but his route still had some good moments.
>>714599057It doesn't start with hours long missions but yes it does get there after a while. The only thing i can say to this is that if the mechanics of it hooks you then it won't matter how long the mission will take. Sometimes its worth it for missions to take long because that means that there are a lot of enemies on the map and you want to get their abilities. Game has both equipment and abilities that work kind of like a deck, them having synergies between each other and giving stronger effects if you know which ones you can pair. Also i think that all the abilities the enemies can get you can also get.

>>714598096Not sure if good exactly, but Clive Barker's Undying has a powerful and spectacular scythe that can be your bread and butter for half of the game.
Dying Light is very nice
I've seen some love towards Dead Island 2
Shadow Warrior reboots. The first game boils down to spamming two special moves in the end game, but you might get some enjoyment out of it, there was a lot of effort put into it. The second one has a bunch of melee weapons, but I was preoccupied with actually good guns this time.
Pretty sure Jedi Outcast and Academy can be played with lightsaber in first person, although the game defaults to 3rd person.

I'd say its worth it.
>>714599909At first you can do whatever you want. It does get harder and harder as time goes on. Unfortunately the dlcs kind of steer you into the direction of specific builds.
