the pinpointing with the coil problem has to do with the mode you're using to detect. Computerized modes sound on the movement over the edges of objects, so if you can turn off the computer on your machine it will give you direct pinpoint location. I only have one computerized detector, a Garret Ace. It has a button that you can press to turn off the computer and pinpoint. It should be "All Metal" mode or something similar. It gives a constant whine that goes up as it passes over metal. That's what you use to pinpoint with the coil. It's the discriminator and computer that cause the signal to move around.

I got into detecting to find treasure but sorta stuck with it because even the junk is interesting.

I have blanket permission from my county to detect county roads and easements, and those run through all the areas I detect. I also know a lot of the landowners personally because they bought the land to detect on it.
