>In the United States, “AEW DYNAMITE” (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) aired on the 3rd (Japan time 4th), where AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada (37) sent an ominous message to NJPW’s G1 Climax winner Konosuke Takeshita (30).
>Takeshita has been a central figure in the “Don Callis Family,” but since June Okada has also been aligned with Don Callis. Even as part of the same faction, tension remained between the two. On last week’s “DYNAMITE,” they stood in the same corner for the first time in an 8-man tag match, but Okada shoved Takeshita during the match, leading to scuffles.
>On this night, Okada was interviewed backstage and spoke about the tense atmosphere with Takeshita. “Apparently Takeshita calls himself the ‘Alpha.’ Good for him. But I’m the ‘Rainmaker.’ And everyone knows—the ‘Top Dog’ of the Don Callis Family is me.” He declared this in English, finishing by provoking Takeshita with his trademark “B-word.”
>Meanwhile, Takeshita is set for a singles match against Mark Briscoe on “COLLISION” in Philadelphia on the 6th (Japan time 7th). Briscoe was chosen by Callis as a condition for challenging Family member and TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, and he and Briscoe engaged in a staredown in the ring.
>As for Fletcher, in the main event 8-man tag match (Fletcher & Josh Alexander & Young Bucks vs. Adam Page & Kenny Omega & Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight), he defeated Knight with a sheer-drop brainbuster after a heated battle. After the match, he completely KO’d Kenny with a brainbuster from the apron through a table, sending him out on a stretcher.
>With the power of the Don Callis Family only growing, all eyes are on the internal power struggle between Okada and Takeshita.
