This is unfortunately pretty commonplace for most MMO Generals these days, regardless of board. The "thread schizo(s)", as it were.
Wasn't nearly so regular of an occurrence to come across these mentally-ill lowlifes in the site's earlier years (even just going back about 7-10 years ago), but it's certainly true now.
Shifting user/regional demographics and the mass adoption of disposable phoneposting is likely the cause of at least some of it. (By which I mean these sorts of low-effort, blatant shitstirrers tend to be young and ESL most of the time, from what I've noticed).
