No it absolutely wasn't lmao you can look up what MacArthur, Eisenhower, Nimitz, etc. thought about the atomic bombings of Japan. Pretty much all the high-ranking American military leaders thought they were unnecessary since everyone on both sides knew Japan was going to lose the war long before the bombs were dropped.
